Nick Hotchkiss aka Nickbomb is one half of the Power Duo that is Driftless Doom. After moving to Viroqua in early 2013 he noticed an absence of Punk Rock and Metal on WDRT. Determined to change this he joined forces with Jason Robertson and created what critics are calling “Radio Magic”. When Nick’s not playing 30 second blasts of madness on WDRT he enjoys brewing beer in his driveway and trying to convince his wife that buying records is now a community service.
Jason is the other half of the Power Duo that is Driftless Doom. Born in Viroqua’s own Vernon Memorial Hospital on a mist-shrouded spring morning, he grew up in the depths of De Soto’s Stygian valleys until moving to La Crosse upon graduating high school.
He met Nickbomb while attending college and their mutual love for punk and metal led them to perform together in a couples of bands. Jason is a bit of a music junkie. Underground heavy metal is by far his favorite, but he has a deep love for punk, industrial, goth, new wave, electro, and indie rock. In addition to being a radio show co-host, Jason is the vocalist for the rock band Thundersnake, Weeping Swords, and Eldritch Saints and composes instrumental electronic music as Bad Acid Cult. He is also a graphic designer, videographer, actor, comedian, and writer.
