Author and NY Times Columnist Margaret Renkl always writes compelling and fun articles. She is the author of “Late Migrations: A Natural History of Love and Loss”(2019), “Graceland, at Last: Notes on Hope and Heartache From the American South” (2021) and “The Comfort of Crows: A Backyard Year” (2023). Since 2017, she has been a contributing Opinion writer for The Times, where her essays appear each Monday. Today she writes about her spider in the window, and then the large purple martin migration stopover roost in Nashville that occurs each late summer.
