Julian Brave NoiseCat’s book We Survived The Night will be published on October 14, 2025, the Day after Indigenous People’s Day. It’s a most powerful weaving of historical and contemporary Indigenous life, mythology, personal accounts of family and community that was profoundly moving.
Julian is a writer, filmmaker, powwow dancer, and student of Salish art and history. He has written for The New York Times, The Washington Post, and The New Yorker. His first documentary, Sugarcane, directed alongside Emily Kassie, premiered at the 2024 Sundance Film Festival, and was given the Directing Award in U.S. Documentary.
