This reading of Eye of the Albatross takes us to the very remote Laysan Island in the western chain of Hawaiian Islands,,and the sobering damage even one odd seed stuck on a shoelace from a visitor or one ant hiding in a box of supplies, can do to an isolated ecosystem. I have some seasonal observations to add during this beautiful month of September about the southward migration of birds.
