New Positions Available

WDRT is an emerging community radio station in Viroqua, WI,  the heart of the driftless region. Our community is a rich and vibrant collection of arts, entertainment, nature, and agriculture, located amongst rolling hills, valley streams, and meandering rivers.

With just over a year on the air, WDRT is seeking the right candidates for 2 important position - a  Development Coordinator, and a Membership Coordinator.

 

The Development Coordinator Position.

Position Description: This is a half time position, reporting to the Board of Directors, participating as a member of the staff collective, and chair of the Fundraising and Marketing committees.

The goal of the position is to meet or exceed WDRT’s annual income goals through underwriting sales, grants, and business sponsorships. The Development Coordinator creates an annual fundraising calendar with the board and committees. In addition, this position is responsible for working with a group of volunteers on the marketing committee to produce materials and message according to the needs of the station. The position is part of the staff collective which is responsible for the daily operations of the station.

Required Qualifications:

  • Three years experience not–profit fundraising or bachelors degree in related field
  • Demonstrated success in fundraising, including grants, and advertising sales to businesses
  • Proficiency with word processing, spreadsheets, and fundraising software
  • Experience with marketing and messaging around community values
  • Strong management skills, initiative, and ability to work both independently and cooperatively
  • Friendly and approachable disposition towards a diversity of community members
  • Excellent written and oral communications skills
  • Willingness to be on the air for pledge drives and public announcements
  • Willingness to be trained for basic trouble-shooting of on-air operations
  • Ability to work nights, weekends and evenings as necessary

Desired qualifications:

  • Experience in non-commercial broadcasting
  • Experience working closely with volunteers
  • Basic business operations including budgets, facilities, and customer relations
  • Knowledge of marketing and graphics programs

Benefits and compensation:

The Development Director has a flexible schedule in a self-directed working environment. This is an hourly position. Compensation for this 22 hour/week position is budgeted at $16,000 annually. Benefits and salary will grow with the success of the fundraising budget.

Membership Coordinator

Position Description:

This is a half time position, reporting to the Board of Directors, participating as a member of the staff collective, and chair of the Membership and Events Committees.
This position is responsible for membership drives, major donors, planned giving, endowment, and benefit events, and coordinating content for website and newsletter. In addition the MC recruits and directs volunteers. The position is part of the staff collective which is responsible for the daily operations of the station.

  • Three years experience working within a membership organization
  • Demonstrated success in membership campaigns
  • Proficiency with word processing, spreadsheets, and member/contact-management software.
  • Strong management skills, initiative, and ability to work both independently and cooperatively
  • Excellent written and oral communications skills
  • Friendly and approachable disposition towards a diversity of community members
  • Willingness to be on the air for pledge drives and public announcements
  • Willingness to be trained for basic trouble-shooting of on-air operations
